FORT KNOX, Ky. – Soldiers with the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division closed the year out with a Santa Stampede 5K Run Dec. 18 at the Kilianski Field, Fort Knox.
“This is a fun, Family-friendly event to bring the battalion together, while incorporating the Soldiers’ spouses and children,” said 1st Lt. Ariel Harvey, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Bn., 2nd Inf. Regt.
The Soldiers and their Families showed up dressed in costumes and outfits, showcasing their holiday spirits. They also donated toys for the battalion-sponsored toy drive to Santa’s Workshop.
Following the run, awards were given to the top three male and female finishers, as well as a prize for best costume.
The run incorporated the Soldier’s spouses and children, to help close out the year Soldiers go on leave.
After the completion of the race, prizes were awarded to the top three males and females, as well as best costume and a toy give-a-way for the “Ramrod” children.
